The Artist From Our Younger Years

The other day, one of our friends picked up an art magazine to satiate his recent thirst for contemporary paintings, illustrations, print, and graphic art or the like. While skimming through, he saw a painting that caught his eye that even coerced him to mutter a 'cool'. That particular art was created by none other than a friend of ours from our younger years. The magazine features up and coming artists to look for in the nation, and lo and behold, Alex Paik was mentioned in this with his Mike Tyson's Punch Out (TKO) piece. You can check it out here: http://www.newamericanpaintings.com/ and his website: http://www.alexpaik.com/. Thinking back, I remember him back in our YG days equipped with a sketchpad and HB pencils by his side and fingertips smudged with black chacoal. It's crazy that the quirky Alex we know has become a new emerging artist to look out for, but he has always had that creative eye and it isn't surprising. It's kind of funny how apparent his personality pervades on the painted canvas. I am happy for him and glad that his artwork is given some spotlight and recognition :).
